New MG ZS goes on sale

Date: 31 October 2017

MG's all-new MG ZS, officially unveiled at the London Motor Show earlier this year, will be available at UK dealers from tomorrow (1 November 2017).

Reengineered specifically for the UK, the MG ZS has a starting price of £12,495 and comes with a seven year/80,000-mile warranty that is standard across all variants, making it one of the longest fully transferable warranties in its class.

Rivalling the Nissan Juke, Mazda CX-3 and Renault Captur, the new ZS is available in three trims; Explore, Excite and Exclusive. Entry cars come with Bluetooth, automatic lights, remote central locking and cruise control as standard.

Moving up to mid-level Excite adds air-con, DAB radio, Apple CarPlay, an 8in touchscreen infotainment system and three power-assisted steering modes - Urban, Normal and Dynamic. Top-of-the-range models benefit from leather interior, a reversing camera and sat-nav.

Interior roominess is among the best in its class and the ZS also has a large 448-litre boot. Customers have a choice of two petrol engines; a 1.5-litre paired with a five-speed manual gearbox and a new 1.0-litre turbocharged paired to a six-speed automatic, the latter having been launched in partnership with General Motors.

MG has experienced significant growth over the past four years and aims to double its sales in 2018 with the addition of the ZS. Top-of-the-range cars are expected to be the biggest-selling and start from £15,495, moving up to £17,495 when fitted with the new 1.0-litre petrol and six-speed automatic gearbox.

More engine options may be made available if demand for the car grows, while there are no plans to introduce a diesel to the line-up.
