New senior appointment at FleetEurope

Date: 14 September 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Vehicle management provider FleetEurope has appointed Joseph Khoury to the newly-created role of senior business development manager.

Khoury will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, while also maintaining relationships with the firm's customer base.

He will report to Joe Howick, chief operating officer at FleetEurope.

Khoury joins the brand from Europcar UK, where he spent 11 years in sales and operational roles, including six years as a business development manager and five years as a station manager.

Prior to his stint with Europcar, he held the role of business manager at Practical Car and Van Rental.

"We are delighted to welcome Joseph to FleetEurope," said Howick. "With over 14 years' rental industry experience, his appointment will further strengthen our existing sales team and support the continued growth of the business."

Khoury added: "FleetEurope is renowned for providing outstanding service and building long-lasting and trusted relationships with its customers. This is a fantastic opportunity for me to form part of an experienced management team and take the business forward by building on its strong market position."

In April, the brand launched a service for daily rental companies that offers protection for light vehicle damage.

Called De-Risk, the service provides cover for minor damage incurred to a rental vehicle up to £500, regardless of who is at fault.

The cover includes damage to the vehicle's bodywork, tyres, alloys and windscreen, as well as replacement keys and misfuelling errors.

FleetEurope said it developed the product ?which can be added onto rental accounts for a "minimal daily fee" ? in response to a 3.9% damage rate in the last 12 months, with seven out of 10 of those claims being valued at £500 or less to repair.

A spokesman for the company at the time claimed it is the first provider to offer such a service.
