Renault Scenic hybrid priced from £25,055

Date: 07 July 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

The order books have opened for the hybrid versions of Renault's Scenic and Grand Scenic MPVs ahead of the first customer vehicles arriving in August.

The unit is made up of the firm's 110hp diesel engine mated to a 10kW electric motor, and is priced from £25,055.

Hybrid models carry a £1,000 premium over the equivalent diesel-only models, though the VED rates are lower thanks to it being classed as an 'alternatively fuelled' car.

The hybrid emits 94g/km of CO2, placing it in the 20% benefit-in-kind (BIK) bracket, with a mpg figure of 80.7, which Renault says is more than 10% better than the diesel-only version.

Three trim levels are offered - Dynamique Nav, Dynamique S Nav and Signature Nav. Standard kit includes front and rear parking sensors, fatigue alert, a sliding centre console, a DAB radio and a 7in touchscreen with a sat-nav built in.

Dynamique S Nav adds a larger 8.7in portrait screen housing a larger multimedia system and a colour head-up display, a rear-parking camera, a panoramic glass sunroof, and tinted windows to the rear and tailgate.

The top-of-the-range Signature Nav models, meanwhile, feature leather upholstery, electronically operated height and lumbar adjustable seats, and LED daytime running lights.
