Skoda expands fleet team with two new appointments

Date: 03 July 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Skoda has expanded its fleet team in order to continue improving its share within the marketplace.

Matt Hattersley joins as its new national fleet sales manager while James Watson has been named as the firm's new regional contract hire and leasing manager for the south.

Hattersley joins Skoda from parent company Volkswagen where he worked as a supply manager, while Watson joins from the Financial Services offshoot of VW, where he was sales manager for the south.

Both of the new recruits will report to Henry Williams, head of fleet at Skoda UK, with Hattersley responsible for coordinating the fleet sales team and improving sales volumes.

"Skoda has made great strides over the past few years; outward perception of the brand has shifted significantly and the new model line-up for fleet is attracting new customers every day," Hattersley said. "With a year that has seen the introduction of Kodiaq to the SUV segment, and with Karoq due soon, it's an exciting time to join the brand. On top of this, I look forward to driving sales and providing the excellent level of support and service that fleet customers expect."

Watson added: "I'm delighted to be joining the Skoda fleet team at such an exciting stage of the brand's growth. I look forward to using my experience to build on our relationships and collaborative approach in becoming the manufacturer of choice for fleet funders and customers alike."

Henry Williams added: "We are already at a turning point for the brand with the introduction of new vehicles and an ever-increasing market share. The next five years will be crucial for Skoda as we further develop our fleet strategy and begin to introduce hybrid and electric vehicles. I'm confident Matt and James will help to shape a positive future for the brand."
