Skoda UK appoints new director

Date: 09 January 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Skoda has named a new UK director.

Rod McLeod will take over the role from 1 February, replacing Duncan Movassaghi, who becomes senior vice-president of sales for Volkswagen in North America.

McLeod first joined Volkswagen Group in 1996 and has worked across a variety of disciplines, including senior roles in fleet, product, and as head of marketing, where he was responsible for product specification, pricing and advertising for all models.

In his most recent role as Volkswagen's head of sales operations for passenger cars, McLeod helped the brand grow to an 8.2% UK market share.

McLeod said: "The development of the Skoda brand over the past few years has been extremely impressive, and with the recent launches of the new Karoq and Kodiaq, it has a strong and enviable model line-up.

"I am really looking forward to working with the UK team and all dealer partners to continue the momentum."

Volkswagen Group UK managing director Paul Willis said: "Rod's expertise and wide-ranging experience will prove invaluable as Skoda readies itself for the next phase of its substantial growth plans.

"I would like to thank Duncan for leading Skoda over the past two years. His guidance and direction have proved pivotal in the successful repositioning of the brand, and the increased sales and record-breaking market share that have followed."
