Surveyors take on Dacia Logan in new fleet deal

Home improvement company Everest has taken on 65 new Dacia Logan vehicles as part of a new fleet deal.

The new vehicles, which are finished in the top of the range Laureate trim, will be used by its team of surveyors who criss-cross the UK measuring customer homes for new windows, doors and conservatories.

Everest is no stranger to the brand; its management team members drive Renault Kadjar crossovers, while the firm also has a fleet of Renault Master and Trafic vans.

Everest claimed low P11D values combined with a low Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) percentage attracted the firm to run the Dacia. Everest's cars are powered by a 90hp diesel engine that emits 90g/km of CO2 and returns 80.7mpg, placing it in the 20% 2017/18 BIK band.

By way of comparison, comparable versions of the Skoda Fabia estate and the Kia Ceed sportswagon attract a BIK percentage of 22%.

Equipment fitted to Everest's cars include air-con, cruise control and speed limiter, rear-parking sensors, a 7in touchscreen media system and Apple CarPlay.

"We considered the Logan MCV to be functional and efficient for our requirements, and its large load area can easily accommodate all our surveyors' field equipment," said David Coeshall, fleet manager at Everest. "We were impressed by its low running costs, including low CO2 and high mpg, and a lower lease cost than [the] majority of similarly specified competitors. It offers a considerable National Insurance saving to the company and drivers due to its low P11D value. Cruise control (requested by our drivers) and the touchscreen media system provide extra comfort for stress-free driving."

Nick Tame, sales director at Groupe Renault, said: "We are delighted that household name Everest has chosen to add the new Dacia Logan MCV to its fleet alongside existing Renault car and van models. Dacia's award-winning range is produced with the expertise of Groupe Renault; its new vehicles are robust and reliable, and embody the best of Renault expertise."
