Suzuki appoints new head of fleet

Graeme Jenkins has been appointed as the new head of fleet at Suzuki GB.

Jenkins joins the company from his previous role as corporate manager at Maserati, a job he occupied for four years. Previously, he also spent 15 years at Toyota, working a number of roles, including fleet sales and marketing.

According to Suzuki, at least 14% of its UK sales in 2016 went to fleet, while data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) 23.5% of the brand's UK sales went to fleets in 2015. Figures have yet to be released for 2016.

Meanwhile, Andrew Wale who will report in to Jenkins - will continue to have responsibility for residual values, new car launches to the fleet sector, as well as remarketing ex-dealer cars.

"This is an exciting time to be joining Suzuki, with plans for significant product driven growth in the fleet market along with substantial investment, there is no doubt Suzuki are now serious about fleet," Jenkins said.  "We will now be raising awareness within the sector of a compelling range of relevant models including the recently launched Ignis with mild hybid application and facelifted S-cross with 1.0-litre and 1.4-litre Boosterjet engines".
