Thrifty joins ICFM affiliate scheme

Vehicle rental company Thrifty is the latest business to sign up to the Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM)'s Corporate Investor Programme.

It means the organisation will be able to participate in ICFM events, and gain access to the fleet body's wealth of resources and data.

According to the ICFM, the programme is designed to appeal to employers that provide products or services to the fleet industry.

Other companies that are part of the scheme include Auto Windsreens, Michelin, SG Fleet and Ambit.

The programme aims to raise the standards of the fleet industry and overcome skills shortages faced by employers with fleets, with member businesses being able to be more closely involved in ICFM training programmes and masterclass events on key topics in the future.

"Fleet management has become increasingly challenging and we support the work of ICFM in its education and training programmes, which reflect the needs in this ever-changing arena," said Caroline Gallagher, sales director at Thrifty Car & Van Rental. "Thrifty Car & Van Rental is delighted to join ICFM's Corporate Investor Programme and become more involved in the outstanding work it does to further professionalise the vehicle fleet management industry."

ICFM sales director Peter Eldridge added: "We are delighted that another well-known fleet industry supplier in Thrifty Car & Van Rental has recognised the value that ICFM can deliver through the Corporate Investor Programme. We hope that many other businesses will clearly see the value-for-money benefits of membership, and the training and learning opportunities available, and then enrol their employees in the various courses and attend our events, whether that be the ICFM's annual conference or its masterclasses tackling key fleet decision-maker issues.

He added: "Investment in ICFM adds credibility and value to businesses and their employees, and provides an invaluable network of contacts and benefits."
