VW reveals prices for Tiguan Allspace SUV

Date: 04 January 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Prices for Volkswagen's new, larger version of its Tiguan SUV start from just under £30,000, the firm has announced.

The new Tiguan Allspace, which is now available to order in the UK, has a longer wheelbase and a greater overall length than its sibling, measuring 2,787mm between the axles, compared with the Tiguan's 2681mm, and 4,701mm end to end, compared with 4,486mm.

A third row of fold-flat seats means the Tiguan Allspace can carry up to seven people and still boast a luggage capacity of 230 litres.

With five people in the car, the luggage capacity is 700 litres, an increase of 85 litres over the regular Tiguan, and the middle row of seats also fold flat, giving a maximum 1,775 litres of space

The middle row of seats also slide forwards and backwards by 180mm.

Available trim levels are SE Navigation, SEL and R-Line, and all come with parking sensors, 3Zone climate control, and at least 18in alloy wheels.

All Tiguan Allspaces also have VW's Discover Navigation infotainment system with an 8in colour touchscreen, satellite navigation, DAB radio and a CD player, as well as Bluetooth smartphone connectivity.

Driver assistance systems fitted across the board include adaptive cruise control, which tracks the speed of the car ahead and automatically accelerates and brakes while keeping a safe gap ahead, as well as lane assist, front assist and city emergency braking.

Engine options include a 1.4-litre TSI ACT petrol engine, which produces 148hp and can shut two of its four cylinders down when the car is cruising to save fuel, and a 2.0-litre TSI petrol with 178hp, which is available only with 4MOTION all-wheel drive and a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

There are also three 2.0-litre diesel engines available, producing 148hp, 187hp, or 237hp.

Combined fuel economy range from 46.3 mpg for the 148hp petrol, to 43.5 mpg for the 237hp diesel.

CO? emissions range from 131g/km for the 148hp diesel with a manual gearbox and front-wheel drive to 175g/km for the four-wheel-drive 2.0-litre petrol.

Prices for the Tiguan Allspace range run from £29,370 for the SE Navigation 1.4-litre petrol, to £39,965 for the SEL with the 237hp diesel engine, DSG gearbox and four-wheel-drive.
