The start point for the best source of fleet information

BCA agrees major BMW deal

Date: 28 June 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Remarketing firm BCA has signed a five-year auto services solutions contract with BMW.

The deal, which includes BMW-owned leasing company Alphabet, means that BCA alone will de-fleet, refurbish, inventory-manage, and physically and digitally remarket vehicles on behalf of BMW in the UK, including a 90% volume for Alphabet.

BCA says the deal is the single biggest remarketing contract in its history.

BMW has also agreed a five-year deal for BCA Fleet Solutions to be its sole UK de-fleet and refurbishment partner, with BCA constructing a new dedicated BMW de-fleet centre that will handle all its storage and refurbishment needs.

BCA Logistics has also been awarded a seven-year deal as inspect and collect provider to BMW and Alphabet.

BCA chief commercial officer Craig Purvey said: "We are delighted to have secured this substantial and significant volume of business from one of our longest-standing corporate customers.

"BCA is on the record as stating our strategy is to integrate along the automotive value chain, focusing on developing extended, unified solutions: increasing volumes, creating value added services and improving efficiencies.

"This significant deal with BMW Group underlines that BCA is creating the most efficient, sustainable and profitable vehicle exchange with the capacity to meet the growing needs of the motor industry."

BCA commercial director for OEMs Matt Bristow said: "BMW Group provides the used vehicle sector with a range of attractive, aspirational and profitable used vehicles, and we are delighted that our buyer customers will be presented with the widest choice and biggest volume of BMW Group product over the course of this agreement."

BMW UK remarketing operations manager Stewart Hodges said: "The BCA business model is unique in its breadth of services across the supply chain, and this provides a compelling customer service offering and creates efficiencies through synergies across all divisions.

"For BMW, the opportunity to partner with BCA across a range of remarketing, logistics, preparation and inventory management services will bring economies of scale and generate real value."
