Europcar names new UK sales and marketing director

Rental firm Europcar has appointed Jose Blanco as UK sales and marketing director.
Blanco takes over the role from Nick Harwood, who has been promoted to sales director for key partners for Europcar Group.
Blanco was most recently VP commercial and CCO of Pullmantur Cruises, and previously spent five years as sales and marketing director for Europcar in Spain.
He aims to use his extensive travel sector experience to respond to the challenges of the UK marketplace, focusing on business and leisure travellers.
Blanco said: "The UK marketplace is experiencing a number of challenges which, I believe, make it an exciting place to work at this time.
"I firmly believe that there are many opportunities for Europcar to provide cost-effective and convenient mobility solutions for both business and leisure travellers in the UK.
"I am, therefore, tremendously excited to be joining the Europcar UK team at this time."
Gary Smith, Europcar's UK managing director, said: "Jose comes with a wealth of experience and proven success in the vehicle rental sector - as well as in the travel industry as a whole.
"We are delighted to welcome him as a key member of the UK senior management team."
