Facelift announced for Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV

Mitsubishi has revealed details of an updated version of its Outlander PHEV.
The revised plug-in hybrid SUV, which makes its debut at next month's Geneva International Motor Show, will come with an upgraded powertrain.
This includes a 2.4-litre petrol engine to replace the previous 2.0-litre unit and improvements to the electric propulsion system, including 10% increases in generator, rear motor and drive battery output, and a 15% increase in drive battery capacity.
The car's four-wheel drive system is also being upgraded, with two additional driving modes joining the existing Normal and 4WD Lock.
Sport mode will give the driver more direct control on winding roads and Snow mode will offer settings tailored for snow-covered or slippery surfaces.
Mitsubishi has made some changes to the car's exterior, including new LED headlights, rectangular front fog light bezels, a more substantial front grille, a front centre cover skid plate and a larger rear spoiler, along with 18in alloy wheels with a new multi-spoke two-tone design.
Interior changes include new quilted leather upholstery, new front seats, revised switchgear, a new instrument panel and rear air conditioning outlets.
The outgoing Outlander PHEV has been Europe's best selling plug-in hybrid for the past three years, with more than 100,000 sales.
These form part of more than 140,000 sales worldwide, making it the world's best selling plug-in hybrid SUV.
The new Outlander PHEV will go on sale in Europe towards the end of this year.
