Facelifted Mazda CX-3 to go on sale

Date: 22 August 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Mazda has revealed prices and specifications for its revised CX-3 SUV.

The new-look model, which will reach UK dealers on 31 August, gets exterior styling changes, including a revised grille and darker side pillars. Inside, the adoption of an electric parking brake allows the Multimedia Commander rotary control to be moved forward for a more flowing centre console design.

A padded armrest with console storage box underneath has also been fitted, along with upgraded front seats and a rear seat central armrest with built-in cup holders. Soundproofing has also been improved.

Under the bonnet, the big change is a new 1.8-litre, 115hp diesel engine which replaces the previous 1.5-litre unit.

Paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, this achieves official combined fuel economy of 64.2mpg and CO2 emissions of 114g/km.

Also available is a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing either 121hp or 150hp, with the more powerful version coming with four-wheel drive.

Both petrol engines are available with six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

Economy and emissions figures are 45.5mpg and 141g/km for the 121hp manual, 46.3mpg and 140g/km for the 121hp automatic, 40.4mpg and 160g/km for the 150hp manual, and 42.2mpg and 152g/km for the 150hp automatic.

Mazda has also made changes designed to improve handling and ride comfort, with new coil springs and dampers, an altered front anti-roll bar and recalibrated electric power steering.

Trim options are SE Nav+, SE-L Nav+, and Sport Nav+. Plus, from 1 October, there will be a 500-run limited edition Sport Black+ model - it will feature a black leather interior, black roof spoiler, mirror caps and free-of-charge metallic paint.

Prices start at £18,995 for a manual 121hp SE Nav+, rising to £24,995 for an automatic 150hp Sport Nav+.
