FleetCheck supports safe driving campaign

Fleet software firm FleetCheck is to promote the Driving for Better Business campaign's Safety and Compliance Commitment to its customers.
The commitment is a voluntary pledge made by businesses that operate company cars and vans to implement a series of key actions, in line with current legislation and guidance from the Health and Safety Executive.
Organisations using FleetCheck software employ 80,000 drivers.
FleetCheck managing director Peter Golding said: "As a company whose products are designed to help create and enforce fleet best practice, safety and the reduction of fleet accidents are subjects about which we are very passionate.
"The Driving for Better Business campaign, funded and managed by Highways England, exists to transform fleet road safety in the UK and we have long been an enthusiastic supporter of its aims.
"It also provides free resources and case studies to help employers improve how they manage those who drive for work, cutting costs in the process.
"The commitment is an excellent way for businesses to introduce a bedrock of fundamental measures that will help to make a safe and legally compliant culture an essential part of their fleet operations."
Golding said FleetCheck would aim to promote the commitment to its user base whenever it is involved in fleet reviews and also as part of its ongoing communications with customers.
Driving for Better Business campaign manager Simon Turner said: "We have a target of signing up fleets totaling one million drivers to the Driving for Better Business safety commitment, so forming partnerships such as this one with FleetCheck are very important to us.
"We look forward to working with their users to help them better understand the business benefits that come from effective management of work-related road safety."
FleetCheck, alongside the FTA's Van Excellence best practice programme, has also been involved in the creation of a free new online Driving for Better Business risk assessment tool.
Available at www.fleetriskcheck.co.uk, it asks 50 questions covering four key areas of fleet operations - the driver, the vehicle, the journey and the company.
From this information, it produces an individual work-related road risk self-assessment report containing actions and information designed to improve fleet safety.
The tool is aimed mainly at SMEs although is also suitable for larger fleets.
