Honda has confirmed UK specifications and pricing for the upcoming four-door saloon version of its Civic small family car.

The new model, set to arrive next month, will come with a choice of two engines: a 1.0-litre, 129hp petrol and a 1.6-litre, 120hp diesel.

The petrol is available with either a manual or a CVT automatic gearbox, while the diesel is available with a manual or conventional auto.

Official combined fuel economy is 58.1mpg for the petrol manual and 60.1mpg for the petrol CVT, while CO2 emissions are 110g/km and 107g/km respectively.

For the diesel, the figures are 83.1mpg for the manual and 68.9mpg with the auto, with respective CO2 emissions of 91g/km and 108g/km.

Three trim levels are available - SE, SR and EX.

Standard equipment with SE trim includes Honda's Sensing suite of safety features, which features collision mitigation braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition, with cars fitted with the CVT or automatic transmission also equipped with a low speed following function.

SE trim adds features including rain sensing automatic wipers, dual-zone  climate control, parking sensors, a rear parking camera and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

EX trim also adds leather seats, smart entry and start, LED headlights with washers, LED fog lights, wireless phone charging and heated rear seats.

Prices for the Civic saloon start from £19,395 for an SE petrol manual, rising to £27,120 for an EX diesel automatic.
