Skoda has announced details of an upcoming facelift for its Fabia supermini.

The revised car, set to make its debut at next month's Geneva International Motor Show, features front and rear restyling, including LED lights at both ends.

The choice of alloy wheels has been extended, with an 18in option now available for the hatchback, while inside there is a redesigned instrument cluster, new dashboard trim strips and a two-tone seat finish.

The updated Fabia will come with a choice of four 1.0-litre petrol engines producing 60hp, 75hp, 95hp and 110hp. The most powerful engines will be available with an optional seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

There are also additional driver assistance systems including blind spot detection, a rear traffic alert system that warns of collision risks when reversing, and light assist technology that automatically switches the headlights to low beam when it detects oncoming traffic or vehicles ahead.

The infotainment system now comes with a 6.5in display and online services from Skoda Connect. When equipped with sat-nav, the Fabia will also offer real-time traffic information. There is also Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink and SmartGate connectivity.

Skoda also promises improved Simply Clever features, designed for day-to-day convenience. These include the addition of a tyre tread depth gauge, an ice scraper concealed in the fuel filler cap, optional USB ports for rear seat passengers, and an optional double-sided boot mat.

The boot of the estate version will also feature a portable LED flashlight.

Skoda says the revised Fabia will be available in the second half of 2018. Full specifications, technical data and prices are yet to be confirmed.
