New Mercedes-Benz GLE revealed

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an all-new version of its GLE SUV.
The wheelbase of the new GLE is 80mm longer than the outgoing model, allowing for more interior space. The second row of seats is fully adjustable, and there's also an option for a third row to make the car a seven-seater.
Boot capacity is up too, from 690 to 825 litres.
Mercedes claims the shape of the new GLE delivers best-in-class aerodynamics, with a drag coefficient of 0.29, down from 0.32 with the old car.
Among the new technology features are E-Active Body Control, which is an active suspension system that works with the air suspension to individually control spring and damping forces at each wheel - a market first, Mercedes says.
The MBUX infotainment system is included with two adjacent 12.3in screens as standard, while the optional Interior Assist feature includes movement recognition.
Driver assistance systems include Active Tailback Assist, which reduces the car's speed as it approaches a traffic jam, and a turning-off function for Active Brake Assist meaning the system can react to oncoming traffic when the driver is turning across a carriageway.
The GLE will launch with a 367hp six-cylinder petrol engine, with a further 22hp available via a mild-hybrid system over short periods.
Paired with four-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic gearbox, provisional combined fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures are up to 34mpg, and between 190 and 220g/km.
Diesel and plug-in hybrid engines will follow.
Prices for the new GLE are set to be announced in the autumn, with the first cars arriving in the UK in spring 2019.
