New Volkswagen T-Cross unveiled

Date: 25 October 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Volkswagen has revealed its new T-Cross SUV.

The new model will become the smallest SUV in VW's lineup, below the T-Roc, Tiguan, Tiguan Allspace and Touareg.

It is 4,107mm long and 1,558mm high, with a boot capacity of between 385 litres and 455 litres with the rear seats up.

At launch in the UK there will be a single, 1.0-litre petrol engine available with a choice of two power outputs - 95hp or 115hp.

Five or six-speed manual and seven-speed DSG automatic gearboxes will be on offer.

All T-Crosses will be front-wheel drive.

Available on-board technology will include VW's second-generation Active Info Display.

There will be up to four USB ports, and wireless charging will be optional.

Other optional equipment will include keyless entry and start and light assist main-beam control.

Available driver assistance systems will include autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane assist and rear traffic alert.

Trim options in the UK will be S, SE, SEL and R-Line. Prices are yet to be confirmed, but are expected to start at around £17,000.

Confirmed prices and full specifications will be confirmed when order books open in the first quarter of 2019.

A limited edition launch version of the T-Cross will also be available, with orders opening in February. Again, full details of this model are yet to be confirmed.
