Pre-orders open for new Lexus ES

Date: 20 September 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Lexus has revealed UK prices and specifications for its new ES executive car.

Three trim levels are available: a base model, priced at £35,150; F Sport, costing £38,150; and the range-topping Takumi for £45,650.

Pre-orders are being taken now, ahead of order books opening on 1 October.

There's only one powertrain option - a front-wheel drive hybrid pairing a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor to produce a total of 215hp, with combined fuel economy of 60.1mpg.

Standard equipment with base cars includes Lexus's second-generation Safety System+ suite of driver assistance technology, satnav with an 8in display, DAB radio, parking sensors, power-adjustable heated front seats, a sunroof and 17in alloy wheels.

F Sport trim increases the size of the alloy wheels to 19in, and also adds adaptive sports suspension as well as F Sport seats and styling details.

Takumi trim upgrades the multimedia display to 12.3in, and also adds: an electric boot lid with hands-free opening; heated and power-reclining rear seats; a Mark Levinson premium surround sound system; a 360 degree camera; triple-zone air conditioning; and triple-eye LED multi-weather headlights with adaptive high-beam and adaptive front-lighting.

A range of optional equipment packs are also available. The Premium Pack, available with base models, costs £3,500, adding: leather seats; front seat ventilation; a power rear screen sunshade; triple-eye LED multi-weather headlights with adaptive high-beam; 19in alloys; a blind spot monitor; and rear cross traffic alert with automatic braking.

The Tech and Safety Pack, available for £700 with F Sport trim, adds the same headlights as the Premium Pack along with a wireless device charger and heated steering wheel.

The Takumi Pack, also available with F Sport trim, costs £4,000, and includes the Mark Levinson sound system, powered boot lid and 12.3in screen from the Takumi trim, along with the power rear screen sunshade and a head-up display.
