Revised Honda HR-V to arrive in October

Date: 13 August 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Honda has revealed details of a facelift for its HR-V SUV.

Exterior changes for the new-look model, for which deliveries will start in October, include: a new high-gloss dark chrome panel above the grille, deeper air intake sections on the front bumper that house circular foglights, and headlights with projector lenses and redesigned LED daytime running lights as standard.

At the rear there's a dark chrome garnish across the tailgate, and darker lens casings for the rear lights.

Inside, there are revised front seats designed to increase support, and upgraded fabric upholstery for lower-spec models. While top-of-the-range cars get a full leather interior as standard.

Honda says it has improved interior quietness and refinement by adding more insulation around the car; and some trim levels will also offer active noise cancellation.

A single engine option will be offered from launch - a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 130hp.

It is available with either a six-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox.

With the latter, the HR-V achieves official combined fuel economy of 53.2mpg and CO2 emissions of 121g/km.

Two further engine options - a more powerful 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.6-litre diesel - will join the range in spring 2019.

UK prices are yet to be confirmed.
