Road Safety Trust names new chief executive

Date: 14 May 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

The Road Safety Trust has announced the appointment of Sally Lines as its new chief executive.

Lines joins the charity on 14 May and will replace Robert Gifford, who completes his three-year tenure as chief executive on 31 May.

The charity says Lines brings to the role extensive and varied experience in the charity and social enterprise sector, having initiated and implemented many strategic, operational and governance changes during her four-year term as chief executive of The Grange Centre for People with Disabilities between 2013 and 2017.

She previously served as chief executive of Social Firms UK between 2004 and 2011, and in 2012 received an OBE for her services to equality in the labour market.

Lines said: "I look forward to working with trustees, executives and stakeholders at all levels to maximise the impact of the Trust's work and to make a real difference to our society.

"I am also totally committed to the importance of good governance."

Road Safety Trust chair Anthony Bangham, chief constable of West Mercia Police, said: "Sally is an outstanding and inspiring leader who has shown drive and commitment in her roles so far.

"She brings an impressive combination of relevant experience, and is a brilliant and inspiring communicator.

"I believe she is perfectly placed to build on the excellent foundations laid by Rob Gifford over the past three years, and to increase the reach, impact and efficiency of the initiatives the Road Safety Trust supports."
