BP Chargemaster announces 150kW charging programme

Date: 03 April 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

BP Chargemaster is to begin installing ultra-rapid 150kW electric vehicle (EV) charge points in the UK.

The firm says the charge points can provide up to 100 miles of driving range from a ten minute charge, much faster than currently standard 50kW charge points.

It says the rollout of the points will begin at a trial site in July, with a network in place by the end of 2019.

The points will be available via the firm's Polar charging network, which currently has around 45,000 members.

BP UK sales manager Howard Nunn said: "The customer is calling for faster charging to optimise performance and provide additional range.

"We're proud to be bringing these 150kW installations to forecourts nationwide and making EV provisions accessible to dealers, helping them to keep up with customer needs on the forecourt and in the growing EV market."
