Nissan X-Trail gets new engines

Date: 12 April 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Nissan has made two new engine options available with its X-Trail SUV.

The new power plants are a 1.3-litre, 160hp petrol, and a 1.7-litre, 150hp diesel.

The petrol comes with front-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic gearbox, while the diesel comes with either front or four-wheel drive, and a six-speed manual.

The seven-speed auto is new to the X-Trail range, and features electrical on-demand cooling and electro-mechanic gear actuation with the aim of improving efficiency.

Both new engines meet the latest Euro-6d-Temp emissions standard.

Official fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures for the new engines in a five-seater X-Trail - a seven-seater is also available - are: 33.2-34.9mpg and 145-154g/km for the petrol; 41.5-43.5mpg and 137-143g/km for the front-wheel drive diesel; and 39.8-42.2mpg and 151-154g/km for the four-wheel drive diesel, with the variations dependent on spec.
