Dacia Duster gets new entry-level engine option

Date: 16 August 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Dacia has made a new 1.0-litre, 100hp petrol engine available with its Duster SUV.

The new engine replaces the previously available 1.6-litre, 115hp petrol as the entry point in the range.

Dacia says that the new engine's official combined fuel economy of 48.7mpg -49.5mpg and CO2 emissions of 126g/km are an 18% improvement on the engine it replaces.

Although it has 15hp less, Dacia says the new engine has 66% more torque, which it says improves responsiveness.

The new engine is available with Access, Essential and Comfort equipment grades, driving the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.

Prices for Dusters with the new engine start at £10,995 for Access grade, rising to £12,495 and £13,995.

The Duster is also available with 130hp and 150hp petrol engines and a 115hp diesel.
