Date: 22 August 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Orders have opened for Peugeot's new 208 supermini, for which CO2 emissions figures have also been published.

The new 208 is available with petrol and diesel power, and as the all-electric e-208.

It is on sale in Active, Allure and GT Line equipment grades, while the e-208 is also available in a higher-spec GT grade.

Petrol engine options are 1.2-litre units with 75hp, 99hp and 129hp, while the sole diesel option produces 101hp.

The 75hp petrol comes with a five-speed manual gearbox, the 99hp petrol with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic, the 129hp petrol with the eight-speed automatic, and the diesel with the six-speed manual.

NEDC-Correlated CO2 emissions figures - which may vary according to spec - are 94g/km for the 75hp petrol, 97g/km for the 99hp petrol manual, 99g/km for the 99hp petrol auto, 103g/km for the 129hp petrol, and 85g/km for the diesel.

Prices for the regular 208 start at £16,250, while the e-208 starts at £25,050, including the £3,500 government plug-in car grant.

The first deliveries are expected early next year.
