Orders open for new Vauxhall Grandland X Hybrid4

Date: 05 August 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Vauxhall has announced specs and prices for the new plug-in hybrid version of its Grandland X SUV, which is available to order now.

Badged the Hybrid4, it pairs two electric motors and a 13.2kWh battery with a 1.6-litre petrol engine, with a combined maximum power output of 300hp.

The model is four-wheel drive, thanks to one of the motors driving the rear wheels, and there is an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Preliminary fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures are 176.5mpg and 36g/km, and there is a claimed electric driving range of 32 miles.

A 3.3kW on-board charger is standard, while a 6.6kW version is optional.

Vauxhall will also offer devices for fast charging at public stations, as well as wallboxes at home, claiming a full battery charge is possible in less than two hours with a 7.4kW wallbox.

Drivers will also get access to more than 85,000 charging points across Europe, as part of Vauxhall's Free2Move services, while sat-nav and the Vauxhall Connect telematics service are also included.

Four equipment grades are available. Prices start at £35,590 for Business Edition Nav Premium, and rise to £40,300 for SRi Nav, £42,200 for Elite Nav, and £45,450 for Ultimate Nav.

The first vehicles will arrive in showrooms in January 2020.
