Four equipment grades are available - Active, Allure, GT Line and GT.

Standard equipment with entry-level Active includes 16in alloy wheels, electric and heated door mirrors, a touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, a 3.5in instrument panel display and autonomous emergency braking, while the E-2008 Active also comes with pre-heating functionality and an electric parking brake.

Stepping up to Allure grade adds equipment including 17in alloys, gloss black B-pillars and rear bumper, roof bars, a configurable 3D instrument panel, LED front fog lights and a modular boot floor.

Extra features with GT Line spec include a 180-degree reversing camera, connected TomTom sat-nav, 18in alloy wheels, eight-colour ambient interior lighting, heated front seats, and full LED headlights with Smartbeam Assist.

The range-topping GT grade comes with further equipment including a panoramic opening glass roof, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane positioning assist and active blind spot monitoring.

Engine options with the regular 2008 are 1.2-litre petrol engines with 100hp, 130hp and 155hp, and a 1,5-litre diesel with 100hp.

The 100hp engines come with a six-speed manual gearbox, the 130hp engine with the six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic, and the 155hp engine with the eight-speed auto.

The E-2008 comes with a 136hp electric motor, and a 50kWh battery said to allow a range of up to 206 miles on the WLTP test cycle.

Prices for the 2008 start at £20,150 for the Active grade, £22,350 for Allure, £26,100 for GT Line and £31,575 for GT.

Prices for the E-2008, including the government's £3,500 plug-in car grant, are £28,150 for Active spec, £30,300 for Allure, £32,000 for GT Line, and £34,275 for GT.
