Hyundai i30 N Line now available with greener engine

Date: 15 February 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Hyundai has made a new entry-level engine available with the N Line version of its i30 lower-medium car.

The N Line equipment grade aims to replicate some of the sporty looks of the range-topping N hot hatch, but with engines taken from the regular range to offer improved running costs.

The model was first introduced with a 1.4-litre 140hp petrol engine, but can now also be had with a 1.0-litre 120hp petrol - the most popular choice from the regular i30 range.

It's available with a six-speed manual gearbox only. A seven-speed automatic option is only available with the more powerful motor.

The 1.0-litre engine offers official combined fuel economy of 51.4mpg and C02 emissions of 126g/km, compared with 48.7mpg and 133g/km for the manual 1.4-litre version.

The N Line with the new engine comes with cosmetic features including: 17in alloy wheels, tweaked front and rear bumpers, a twin exit exhaust muffler, gloss black wing mirror covers, body coloured door handles, N Line sports cloth seats, black headlining and N branded steering wheel and gear lever.

Standard equipment includes keyless entry, an 8in touchscreen with DAB and Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, a rear view camera and cruise control with speed limiter.

The 1.0-litre N-Line is priced at £19,995.
