Orders open for electric Audi E-Tron

Date: 11 February 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Audi's first fully electric car is now available for UK orders.

The E-Tron SUV is available in two variants: a standard grade, priced at £71,490, and Launch Edition, costing £82,240. Both prices exclude the UK government's £3,500 Plug-In Car Grant.

An additional Edition 1 variant, which was open to pre-order through a deposit scheme, is already sold out in the UK.

The E-Tron is powered by two electric motors with a maximum combined output of 408hp. It comes with a 95kWh battery that allows for an official WLTP driving range of up to 241 miles.

It can be charged using a home AC supply via conventional means, wallbox or with fast DC charging stations at up to 150kW. The latter enables 80% recharging in 30 minutes.

Standard equipment with the E-Tron includes adaptive air suspension, touchscreen sat-nav, the Virtual Cockpit driver infotainment display, a 360 degree view parking system, reversing camera and lane departure warning.

The regular E-Tron comes with 20in alloy wheels and LED headlights, while the Launch Edition gets 21in alloys and intelligent LED headlights, enabling the beam to be diverted around surrounding traffic.

The Launch Edition also features camera-based units replacing the door mirrors, transmitting to two OLED interior displays.

Other features of the Launch Edition include a black styling pack, panoramic roof, electric steering wheel adjustment, a remote preconditioning system, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition.

UK deliveries of the E-Tron will begin in April.
