Videalert announces refit service for mobile enforcement vehicles

Date: 12 February 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

A refit service for installing upgraded cameras in mobile enforcement vehicles (MEVs) has been introduced by CCTV firm Videalert.

The service allows councils using older surveillance vehicles to replace their analogue video equipment with HD digital cameras.

Videalert says this will allow councils to extend the operational life of these vehicles.

The new cameras offer capture rates of up to 98%, which can be achieved with a single pass at normal road speeds, and Videalert claims they can be used with minimal training.

Videalert sales and marketing director Tim Daniels said: "This service will enable councils to extend the operational life of MEVs by installing new camera technology and a complete suite of software.

"It will allow the vehicles to be used in a wide range of traffic management enforcement and monitoring applications.

"What is more, there is also no restriction regarding the types of vehicles that can be upgraded."
