Facelifted Volvo XC90 gets new energy recovery system

Volvo has announced an updated version of its XC90 large SUV, including a new fuel-saving engine option.
The kinetic energy-recovery braking system is said to offer reductions in fuel consumption and emissions of up to 15%.
It is coupled with the existing internal combustion engines to create a new electrified powertrain, to be sold under the B badge.
Volvo says it will complement the existing T8 plug-in hybrid in the range.
The revised XC90 also gets updated safety systems, including steering assistance with both the autonomous emergency braking and blind spot information features.
Oncoming lane mitigation is now also available, and an automatic braking feature has been added to the cross traffic alert system.
Android Auto compatibility is now also included, while cosmetic tweaks include new wheels, a redesigned front grille and new exterior paint colours.
The updated XC90 will be available to order in the UK from mid-March, with first deliveries expected late in the second quarter of the year.
Prices are expected to be announced shortly.
Volvo says it will also shortly be rolling out the B powertrains with its smaller XC60 SUV, with UK market details to be confirmed.
