Brake to hold fleet fatigue management seminar

Date: 27 February 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Road safety charity Brake is organising a one-day seminar on the subject of fatigue management within fleets.

The event, part of Brake's Global Fleet Champions campaign, will feature presentations by academics and industry experts on subjects such as: the causes and consequences of driver fatigue; identifying and addressing fatigue; talking about fatigue with employees; managing fatigue within fleets; and fatigue risk management.

It will take place at Post Office Ltd, 20 Finsbury Street, London, on 4 April, with registration from 9am, and is sponsored by Mix Telematics and Seeing Machines.

Booking is via the Global Fleet Champions website.

Brake senior fleet officer Sarah Plumb said: "Fatigue is particularly dangerous because it can affect anyone, regardless of how experienced a driver they are.

"At-work drivers can be particularly at risk, especially if they spend long hours driving, drive at night, or have irregular sleep schedules.

"Delegates at this seminar will receive expert advice on how to manage fatigue within fleets and I encourage all those with responsibility for at-work drivers to attend."
