Honda has revealed full details of a new performance-focused equipment grade for its HR-V SUV.

The Sport comes with a 1.5-litre, 182hp petrol engine, paired with either a manual or CVT automatic gearbox.

Official combined fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures are 47.9mpg and 135g/km with the manual, and 47.1mpg and 137g/km with the CVT.

Exterior design features of the HR-V Sport include a gloss black chrome trim and black honeycomb front grille, along with a front splitter, side skirts, wheel arch mouldings and a redesigned rear bumper, all in black.

LED headlights, indicators and daytime running lights are standard, and the tail lights feature a dark smoked effect and black inner bars.

Inside, there are redesigned driver and front passenger seats finished in black and dark red part-leather, and a black roof.

Standard safety features carried over from the existing HR-V range include autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition.

Other standard equipment includes a 7in touchscreen with sat-nav and internet browsing capability.

Prices are £27,595 with the manual gearbox and £28,845 with the CVT. The cars are set to arrive at dealerships in April.
