New Skoda Kamiq revealed

Skoda has unveiled its new small SUV.

The Kamiq will become the third SUV in the brand's line-up, sitting below the Karoq and Kodiaq.

Exterior design features of the car include split LED lights, with daytime running lights sitting above the main headlights. 

There will be a choice of three petrol engines - a 1.0-litre with 95hp, a 1.0-litre with 115hp, and a 1.5-litre with 150hp - and a 1.6-litre diesel with 115hp.

Five-speed manual, six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic gearboxes will be available, depending on engine choice. 

Interior technology includes a 9.2in touchscreen and optional 10.25in Virtual Cockpit display.

Connectivity features will include the ability to lock and unlock the car, check whether its windows are closed, and see how much fuel is in the tank , all via a smartphone app or web portal.

Comfort options include a heated steering wheel, heated windscreen and heated seats, not only for the two front seats but also for the outer rear seats. 

Other options include automatic door edge protection for when the doors are opened, and an electric tailgate. 

There's a 400-litre boot, which increases to 1,395 litres with the rear seats folded down. A foldable front passenger seat is optional.

Standard safety systems include autonomous emergency braking and lane assist, while options include: adaptive cruise control, driver fatigue alert, crew protect assist (which closes windows and pretensions front seat belts if a collision is imminent), side assist, rear traffic alert and park assist.

The Kamiq will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. UK prices and specs are yet to be confirmed.
