Drivenow to boost electric car sharing fleet

Car sharing firm Drivenow has announced that 130 new BMW i3 electric vehicles (EVs) will be joining its London fleet.
The company, owned by BMW Group, says the new i3s will join 50 older examples of the model until the latter are phased out in April.
Drivenow says its aim is to have a fleet that is 80% electric by 2025.
The new i3s - which offer a 160-mile driving range between charges - will take the company's total current fleet to 720 vehicles, operating in nine London boroughs: Barnet, Brent, Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Westminster.
Other cars on the fleet include the Mini Hatch, Mini Clubman, Mini Convertible and BMW 1 Series.
Drivenow UK managing director James Taylor said: "The introduction of the new BMW i3s is such a positive step forward for Drivenow and the e-mobility industry.
"It makes sense for us to expand our electric fleet and continue to offer customers a sustainable alternative to privately owned transport.
"We have an important role to play in London, helping to normalise EV use and contribute further to improvements in air quality."
