Winter weather warnings added to Nexus management platform

Date: 05 February 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

A new system to alert drivers to winter weather warnings has been developed by Nexus Vehicle Rental.

The feature sees the firm's Iris vehicle management platform creating a pop-up to alert drivers when amber and red weather warnings are issued.

In addition to this, Nexus has published the latest edition of its Glovebox Guide series, entitled Winter Safety, which offers advice on dealing with changeable conditions, as well as a step-by-step guide to be followed in the event of an accident or vehicle damage.

Nexus CEO David Brennan said: "As the weather closes in, it's important to stay safe on the road and be wary of travelling if conditions become too treacherous.

"To provide an added layer or protection for drivers, we've updated IRIS and created our latest handy guide to inform drivers of extreme weather hazards such as rain, snow, ice, wind and fog.

"We have stringent service level agreements with all our suppliers to ensure vehicles are maintained and checked for any damage and faults before they are used.

"We also work closely with suppliers to save customers money on their damage claims, which has resulted in 36% of these being closed or 'knocked back', saving one of our biggest clients £350,000."
