Volkswagen has agreed a deal to supply private hire operator Addison Lee with 1,200 of its Sharan MPVs - the single biggest UK purchase of the model to date.
The vehicles will all be in SE 2.0 TDI Bluemotion 150 PS DSG spec, and feature electric sliding rear doors.
The deal means that one-in-five of the firm's London-based fleet will now be VWs.
VW UK head of fleet Michael O'Shea said: "We are very pleased to be working with such a prominent name as Addison Lee.
"Now, even more people will be able to experience the high quality, luxurious comfort and advanced technology of our large seven-seat MPV."
The deal means Addison Lee's fleet will be compliant with the new London Ultra-Low Emission Zone, which comes into force on 8 April, as the Sharans meet the required Euro 6 standard.
Addison Lee chief operating officer Lisa Burger said: "This multimillion pound investment in new VW Sharan vehicles will make our entire fleet compliant with Transport for London's low emission standards and start the process of moving towards a zero-emissions capable fleet."
