Limited edition Nissan Leaf gets bigger battery

Date: 11 January 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Nissan has announced a new limited edition version of its Leaf electric car with an extended driving range, alongside a new equipment grade.

The Leaf 3.Zero e+, of which only 5,000 will be produced for Europe, features a 62kWh battery forecast to give the vehicle a 239 mile range under official testing, up from 168 miles with the 40kWh battery which has been standard since the second-generation Leaf went on sale last year.

The e+ also gets a power boost, up to 217hp.

It has been announced alongside the debut of the regular 3.Zero equipment grade, which comes with the 40kWh battery.

It gets equipment including an 8in touchscreen, and will come with an all-new Nissan Connect EV app.

New paint colours and two-tone colour combinations are also available.

Orders are open now for both new models. Prices, with the UK government's £3,500 Plug-In Car Grant included, are £31,095 for the 3.Zero, and £36,795 for the 3.Zero e+.
