Range updates announced for Volvo XC40

Volvo has announced a series of upgrades to its XC40 SUV range.
Among the changes is a power boost for the entry-level T3 1.5-litre petrol engine, which goes up from 156hp to 163hp. It is now also more efficient under official testing, with combined fuel economy up from 36/7mpg-39.8mpg to 37.2mpg-41.5mpg, and CO2 emissions down from 144g/km-148g/km to 142g/km-146g/km.
Those figures are with a manual gearbox, but the engine is also now available with an optional eight-speed automatic.
Also newly available is a front-wheel drive version of the XC40 with the more powerful T4 petrol engine, which was previously four-wheel drive only.
New standard equipment across the range includes auto-folding door mirrors, a 12v power outlet in the luggage compartment, a locking glovebox and a load protection net, while automatic R-Design cars now also come with gear change paddle-shifts as standard.
A new Winter Plus pack is now available as an option, including a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats, and an upgraded blind spot information system with steer assist function is also being introduced.
The updated XC40 is available to order now, with prices starting at £28,965.
