Reservations open for electric DS 3 Crossback E-Tense

Date: 01 July 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

DS has announced UK specs and prices for the electric version of its DS 3 Crossback SUV, which is available for initial reservations now.

The model, badged E-Tense, is the brand's first all-electric model.

It will be powered by a 136hp electric motor, linked to a 50kWh battery that is said to be good for a 200-mile driving range on the WLTP test cycle and capable of an 80% recharge in 30 minutes from a fast charging point.

E-Tense drivers will be able to access a range of services through the MyDS mobile app, including programming or switching on battery charging, viewing the battery's charge status and remotely setting the car's interior temperature.

DS will also be offering other services such as: a choice of home wall box chargers; access to public chargers; and the DS Mobility programme, which includes access to the rental status of other DS models, allowing drivers to switch to a petrol or diesel-powered car for long journeys.

The E-Tense is available in Prestige and Ultra Prestige equipment grades: the two highest-spec models from the regular DS 3 range.

Prices, including the UK government's £3,500 plug-in car grant, are £32,350 for the Prestige, and £35,350 for the Ultra Prestige.

A formal ordering process will follow, with the first deliveries are expected in January next year.
