Johnsons Workwear takes on DriverMetrics programme to improve fleet safety

Date: 15 July 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Driver risk management specialist DriverMetrics has been taken on by workwear supplier Johnsons Workwear to implement a driver safety programme for its employees that drive for work.

Employees who drive cars as well as commercial vehicles will undertake the DriverMetrics360 programme, which incorporates a driver risk assessment and a programme of e-learning modules that are designed to reduce individual crash risk.

DriverMetrics says the e-learning modules address key behavioural risk factors for employees that drive for work, including fatigue, work-related pressures, frustrations and distractions.

Johnsons Workwear national transport manager Ian Greatrex said: "Johnsons Workwear are committed to ensuring the safety of our drivers by investing in our people through the use of driver intervention systems and coaching.

"By initially assessing 400 of our drivers and through subsequent training modules, we aim to decrease their risk of being involved in a road traffic incident by increasing their awareness of the risks associated with driving.

"DriverMetrics provides the tools to do this with an intuitive online interface and a comprehensive reporting suite."
