Date: 29 July 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Vauxhall has announced specs and prices for the revised version of its Astra lower-medium car.

Seven equipment grades will be available: SE, Business Edition Nav, SRi, SRi Nav, SRi VX Line Nav, Elite Nav and Ultimate Nav.

All the above will be available as a five-door hatchback, while SE, Business Edition Nav and SRi Nav will also come as an estate.

Standard equipment with SE grade includes a 7in touchscreen, air conditioning and cruise control. Business Edition Nav will add features including sat-nav and a leather steering wheel.

The sporty SRi grade comes without sat-nav, but gains features including a front camera system, sports front seats and LED headlights. The SRi Nav adds navigation back in.

SRi VX Line Nav gets further equipment including 18in alloys and front foglights with gloss black surround.

The more luxury-focused Elite Nav grade gets equipment including: an 8in touchscreen, 8in digital instrument cluster, climate control, a heated steering wheel and heated front and rear seats. And range-topping Ultimate Nav spec gets features including a Bose sound system, heated windscreen and wireless charging.

Engine options are: 1.2-litre petrols with 110hp, 130hp and 145hp; a 1.4-litre petrol that also produces 145hp; and 1.5-litre diesels with 105hp and 122hp.

All engines come with six-speed manual transmission - except for the 1.4-litre petrol, which comes with a stepless automatic, and the 122hp diesel, which comes with either the six-speed manual or a nine-speed auto.

Preliminary combined fuel economy and CO2 emissions data with the hatchback bodystyle are: 51.4mpg-54.3mpg and 99g/km for the 1.2-litre petrol at all power outputs; 46.3mpg-48.7mpg and 112g/km for the 1.4-litre petrol; 60.1mpg-64.2mpg and 95g/km for the 105hp diesel; 58.9mpg-62.8mpg and 95g/km for the 122hp diesel with manual transmission; and 51.4mpg-54.3mpg and 120g/km for the diesel auto.

Hatchback prices start at £18,885 for an SE 110hp petrol, and rise as high as £29,310 for an Ultimate Nav 122hp diesel auto.

Estate prices start at £20,355 - also for an SE 110hp petrol - and run up to £26,920 for an SRi Nav 122hp diesel auto.

Orders for the revised Astra will open on Thursday, 1 August.
