New ultra-fast charger unveiled by BP Chargemaster

Date: 07 June 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

A new 150kW ultra-fast charger for electric vehicles (EVs) has been launched by BP Chargemaster.

The company, which operates the Polar public charging network, says the new Ultracharge 150 will allow the latest EVs to charge at their maximum speed, and is capable of delivering around 100 miles of driving range in only 10 minutes.

Around 100 of the chargers will appear on 50 sites by the end of 2019, with 400 planned to arrive on BP forecourts by the end of 2021.

The Ultracharger 150 features both CCS and CHAdeMO connectors, and will be accessible to both pay-as-you-go and subscription customers.

BP Chargemaster chief executive David Martell said: "We are very proud to be bringing this new 150kW ultra-fast charger to market, which will be available on the Polar network within the coming months.

"We shifted consumer expectations for rapid charging with the introduction of our 50kW Ultracharge unit and we are confident that the Ultracharge 150 unit will do the same for 150kW ultra-fast charging."
