Acfo spring seminar to discuss industry's rapid pace of change

Date: 04 March 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Fleet operator organisation Acfo says its 2019 spring seminar will help deliver some clarity to fleet decision-makers as the industry continues to evolve at 'an unprecedented pace'.

The event, entitled Another Year of Evolution, will see expert speakers addressing developments that the organisation says could turn the established order of fleet management 'inside out and upside down'.

Chairman John Pryor said: "The seminar will be a unique event in addressing topics as diverse as the future of company car taxation, the impact of Brexit on fleet operations, vehicle funding trends, and the introduction of Clean Air Zones in towns and cities nationwide.

"Fleet operators may have been treading water in 2018 awaiting clarity on numerous issues, but Acfo believes that as decisions on key issues are made the future shape of fleets will emerge, and that is starting to occur.

"The seminar will provide insight and practical advice in specific areas affecting businesses and fleet decision-makers now and in the future that will enable them to operate more efficiently and effectively."

The seminar will be held shortly after the government's Spring Statement - in which Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond is expected to set out the future of company car tax - and Mike Moore of professional services firm Deloitte will deliver his analysis.

Other highlights include a discussion of Brexit with Malcolm Maycock of Licence Bureau, Oliver Waring of Reflex Vehicle Hire and Len Benson of Peter Lole & Co.

Lex Autolease will issue an update on the fleet funding marketplace and Beth Davies of Cap HPI will discuss emissions testing.

Tim Anderson of the Energy Saving Trust will offer advice on Clean Air Zones, and Nora Leggett from the BVRLA will discuss that organisation's updated advice on fair wear and tear.

There will also be an update from Jaguar Land Rover on its operations, and from ICFM chairman Paul Hollick on that organisation's programme.

The event will take place on 27 March at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire, and is being sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover, with support from Lex Autolease and Reflex Vehicle Hire.
