Aston Barclay introduces national refurbishment service

Date: 07 March 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Remarketing firm Aston Barclay has rolled out its Enhanced refurbishment service across its UK network.

The service covers smart repair, paintless dent removal, alloy wheel refurbishment and glass repair, and is being offered at each Aston Barclay site by a fully trained refurbishment manager.

As well as providing a service to buyers, allowing them to spruce up cars ready for retail, it is also available to vendors, with the aim of improving bid volumes, sale prices and conversion rates.

Aston Barclay group managing director Martin Potter said: "The addition of Enhanced complements our vendor-focused refurbishment services and opens up a broader range of vehicles in the market that are refurbished prior to sale."

For buyers, Aston Barclay says all refurbishment work is typically completed within 96 hours, with the focus on having cars ready for retail as quickly as possible.

To help the buyer decide whether refurbishment is needed, they are sent a short video of each car with a fully itemised and costed repair summary, and an acceptance button to approve the work.

Potter said: "Our buyers have told us that the ability for us to offer a post-sale, pre-delivery refurbishment service is of great benefit to their retail business.

"If a buyer can take delivery of used cars in an Enhanced condition, they can reduce their stocking days, increase their speed of sale and stock turn, and unlock capital more quickly."
