Toyota Corolla GR Sport and Trek variants revealed

Date: 06 March 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Toyota has revealed two new versions of its new Corolla lower-medium car.

These are the performance-inspired GR Sport, and the more rugged, crossover-inspired Trek.

The GR Sport gets styling flourishes including a new front grille with a dark chrome finish, lower skirts and sills, a rear diffuser, 18in alloy wheels and a Dynamic Grey bi-tone paint finish.

Inside there are sport seats in black cloth upholstery with leather-effect bolsters (full leather upholstery is optional), and black and red stitching on the instrument panel, steering wheel and gear lever.

Tweaks for the Trek include a 20mm ride height increase, front and rear underruns, and 17in alloys.

Inside there is a 7in TFT infotainment screen, two-tone cloth upholstery and matching wood trim details.

Both the GR Sport and Trek also get rear privacy glass, front fog lights and LED headlights, and both will be offered with a choice of either 1.8-litre or 2.0-litre petrol hybrid powertrains.

The Trek will go on sale in August, with the GR Sport to follow next January.

Full UK specs and availability of both models will be confirmed nearer the on-sale date.
