Marco Lessacher has been named as the new CEO of leasing company Alphabet International.
He will start on 1 July, replacing long-standing CEO Norbert van den Eijnden, who is resigning from the post he has held since 2009 to take on new challenges.
Lessacher joined BMW Group in 2007 and held various CEO roles, among others at BMW Financial Services and Alphabet Germany.
He was subsequently BMW Group's head of international corporate, direct and special sales.
He then assumed responsibility for BMW Group's Financial Services business in central and south-eastern Europe, and has also served as chairman of the board of BMW Austria Bank GmbH.
Lessacher said: "I'm really looking forward to this new challenge. With a strong team and a clear vision, we will set the course for a successful future."
