The start point for the best source of fleet information
A smartphone-based driver safety product has been launched by Brightmile.
The fleet risk management brand, backed by AXA Insurance's Kamet Ventures, says its product users the sensors built into smartphones to assess and coach drivers on what its describes as five pillars of safe driving - risk, speeding, smartphone distraction, fatigue, and economy.
It says safe drivers are given rewards that can be exchanced for Amazon vouchers or converted into charity donations to Brake.
Brightmile claims it offers a cost-effective way for companies to manage their real-time driver risk, including across company cars and grey fleet.
It says managers are given actionable insight on fleet risk trends, risky drivers and areas for intervention, and there is the potential to automate tailored e-training modules to drivers based on their performance.
Brightmile CEO Dominic Saunders said: "We are excited to bring Brightmile to the market and deliver an innovative solution to help companies mitigate what is often their greatest unmanaged risk.
"We are also delighted to support Brake with our charitable donations - we share a common goal to help drivers get home safely and so this is a natural fit.
"Brightmile's approach is to reward safe driving and we believe that giving drivers the opportunity to exchange 'brightmiles' for donations to Brake will encourage better driving and make our roads safer for everyone."
