New Uniti One electric car launched

Date: 14 October 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

The first car from new electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Uniti has been revealed.

The Uniti One is a city car with interior space for three adults - the driver up front and two passengers behind.

It comes with a 68hp electric motor, and a choice of two batteries - a 12kWh battery offering a 93-mile driving range, and a 24kWh battery that offers a range of 186 miles.

Uniti says the larger battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in two hours and six minutes with a domestic 7kW charger, or in 17 minutes with a 50kW charger.

Designed in Sweden and engineered in the UK, the Uniti One is 3,222mm long and 1,709mm wide, and has a turning circle of seven metres.

With the twin rear seats in place, there is a boot capacity of 155 litres. This can be extended to 760 litres with the seats folded.

The Uniti One features an Android-based infotainment system, and is capable of receiving over-the-air software updates.

Intel's MobilEye 6 collision avoidance system is available as an option.

Prices including the UK Government's £3,500 plug-in car grant start at £15,100.

The first UK deliveries are expected in mid-2020.
