New Hyundai i10 revealed

Date: 03 September 2019   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Hyundai has revealed an all-new, third generation version of its i10 city car.

Compared with the outgoing model, the new i10 is 20mm wider, with a 20mm lower roof, and has an increased wheelbase that Hyundai says means improved passenger space.

Key styling features including a wide front grille incorporating round LED daytime running lights, and x-shaped c-pillars.

It is available as a four-seater or five-seater model, and has 252 litres of boot space.

Two engines will be available at launch - a 1.0-litre petrol with 67hp and a 1.2-litre petrol with 84hp, both with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic gearbox.

Provisional NEDC-Correlated CO2 emissions figures are 103g/km for the 67hp engine, and 107g/km for the 84hp engine, though Hyundai says the figures for the 67hp engine can be improved with an optional Eco Pack.

Available technology will include an 8in touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charging, a rear-view camera, and Hyundai's Bluelink telematics system.

Available safety systems will include autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, high beam assist, lane keep assist, driver attention warning and intelligent speed limit warning.

The new i10 will make its debut at the Frankfurt motor show later this month. Prices and full specs are yet to be announced.
